PeriodEd

Curricula teaching girls how to approach menstruation in their everyday life. Because it really does matter.

About PeriodEd

Our Story

PeriodEd is an organization providing menstrual education materials and advocating for school-wide menstrual equity. Founded in September 2025, PeriodEd was originally only a curriculum. However, our programming has blossomed into collaborative workshops with other organizations and advocacy for menstrual rights. We aim to provide free resources and information for educators on how they can support menstruating students.

Where We're Headed

As we look towards a new school year, we plan to continue hosting workshops. We are also excited to share that we are developing three new programs: an ambassador program, an AI-powered advocacy tool, and a counseling service.

I first became interested in this issue when my friend explained how her sex-ed class exclusively taught about male reproductive systems. I was horrified: if schools did not provide information about female reproductive systems (and all the cycles and stages they experience), who would?

As I began to research, I discovered the prominence of this issue. Countless school sex-ed programs excluded menstruation, and many girls and women I spoke with directly felt these effects; some of my friends had not even known what their ovaries were.

My culminating frustration led me to create my own curriculum. One that embodied what the women around me and I would have wanted to learn about menstruation. Collaborating with other organizations has only further shown me how large the need is for comprehensive menstrual education that actually allows girls to approach everyday life. A menstrual curriculum teaching girls about their essential biology will ensure greater success in understanding their bodies, emotions, and minds.
